Honoring heroes this Memorial Day

The sun just came out as I’m writing this post, which is the perfect timing for this post. Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifice of heroes.

Like many people, I have veterans in my family, but the one I’m closest to is my husband. I try not to plug him, but if you wanted an opportunity to reflect this holiday, I would urge you to explore his YouTube Channel: LionHeart FilmWorks. He started this company after serving in the Army. The company presents compelling military history documentaries for museums and TV, as well as YouTube. In the tradition of this day, here are a few of his featured videos.

If you’re so inclined, please subscribe and share any videos that resonate with you. Just like reviews for authors, your engagement helps support a small, veteran-owned business.

Another person I’d like to highlight is Maria Wiggins, LCSW, who currently works as an Army Civilian treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) amongst Active Duty Service Members. She launched her new blog today, which will focus on trauma and lessons we all can benefit from. You can follow her on Facebook here and visit her Brave Heart Counseling blog here. I’ve invited her to be a guest blogger, so you’ll be hearing more from her soon on topics that resonate with all of us, such as anxiety and imposter syndrome.

Thank you to all of the service members who have sacrificed.

Happy Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Kathryn
