My Favorite YouTube Channels to Calm Down

Confession time: I didn't watch Tiger King.

I won't judge you if I did. Everyone is enthralled. But I wouldn't say I like to watch heavy stuff. I can read and write some things with a bite, but I cringe when watching suspenseful, graphic, violent shows or movies. Sometimes it can cut deep, and I have a hard time bouncing back. Our time is like a burning candle, and mental health is like the flame. A lot of things can blow out that flame. For that reason, I guard my mental health by being very selective about where I spend time and what content I consume.

If you're like me and looking for something to ease anxiety these days, here's what I got:

Yellow Brick Cinema:

Let's start with an essential YouTube video for me. The very first thing I subscribed to on YouTube. I have written every novel to this soundtrack, and were it not for this video, my books would have taken years longer, and that's honest to God a fact. If you need to get stuff done quick, I promise you this will do it. Iโ€™ve been working to it for so long that itโ€™s like my brain is trained and when I turn it on, Iโ€™m suddenly in the zone.

Primitive Technology:

No talking. Nature sounds. Making structures and tools with only what can be found in nature.

Li Ziqi:

Minimal talking in Chinese. Nature sounds. Farming, handcrafts, & cooking.

4K WDW:

No talking. Sounds and sights of Magic Kingdom. Walking through the happiest place on Earth along with ride POVs.

Juggling the Jenkins:

Funny, honest truths about life and authentic, meaningful conversations about anxiety and addiction.

Gentle Whispering ASMR:

My latest find. ASMR stands for Autonomous sensory meridian response. When played in headphones, the sounds can trigger a tingling response over the head and spine, which is very pleasant and relaxing.

Well, there you have it! What did I miss? If you know of something relaxing that you enjoy, drop a comment below and let me know about it! We all could use a little calming energy these days.

Onward, Kathryn
